The workFile Vision framework is key to our holistic approach, and belief that people make your business. It allows a single user interface to be used for all your workFile needs, including system administration. It does this by recognising system modules based on a users role within workFile. If a user is able to administer the system, then the system administration components are downloaded and loaded into the workFile Vision application for them. If they can’t administer the system, then that component is not downloaded and therefore not available to that user.
The workFile Vision Framework allows a single user interface to hold many different components within it, including components written by developers or other application providers.
HTTP (the web)
The framework delivers the Vision user interface over the web (http), so it is easy to update, maintain and administer to your users. It also can be easily accessible in cloud based scenarios or via intranet implementations (internal).
Don’t think though that this is an application that runs in a browser (which is rather limiting), like a website. No, no no. Vision uses the web to deploy the framework and the user interface, but it runs outside of the browser, and as such, means a typical desktop icon is made available to the end user which starts the application (no need for a browser here).
HTTP is also used to access and communicate with the workFile Vision repository through its SOA (Service Orientated Architecture). Because workFile Vision is built on services (SOA), it is easy to integrate with from other third party solutions, no matter what they are written in, or what platforms they run on.
workFile Vision framework goes further
We aren’t finished yet. The Vision framework allows the tight coupling of other line of business applications directly into the user interface. This means that third party applications can (with a little config and professional services) run directly within the workFile Vision user interface, as if they were in fact part of workFile Vision. Neat right? It also means that third party developers can write bespoke software for your company and have it run as if it is part of workFile Vision, effectively extending the workFile Vision platform to incorporate more business needs and functions. This all feeds back into our holistic philosophy and empowerment of your end users.
